About the Author |

Carolyn Han received a BA in English from the University of Hawai'i at Hilo and an MA in comparative literature from San Diego State University. From an early age, she has been fascinated with stories from other cultures. In 1985, Han traveled to China to teach and collect stories in Sichuan and Yunnan provinces. Since then, she has continued traveling along the Silk and Incense roads listening to and writing stories. Han has won numerous awards of excellence for her short stories, poems and books. She currently teaches at Hawai'i Community College in Hilo. |

About the Illustrator |

Kathleen B. Peterson has illustrated 19 books. She is the founding director of the Central Utah Art Center and displays her landscape paintings in galleries around the west and on the Big Island of Hawai'i. A past resident of Hawai'i, Peterson currently divides her time between Utah and Idaho. |

Aloha! This is the greatest book EVER !!! Worth every penny and then some, it's a wonderful story. The pictures are nice, showing real Hawaiian feeling and culture. It has a great moral lesson. It's a book that everyone should read. Enjoy it and pass it on. |
